Hi all any used the md1 with the 1500 i have just got the md1from flee bay to try it just want to know if any on here has used one yet cheers

The issue with the MD1 mic is that it was originally wired for older Yaesu radios like the FT1000D and older, where the shields were wired to the now Mic (-) connection instead to chassis ground. This can cause sever RFI in the audio. Please watch your wiring diagrams for the mic and ohm out the shields through the base of the mic. Wiring for the mic can be seen at one of these links.

There seem to several variations of the MD-1 and base. So check them out.

The MD-100 has been reported as working with the 3000/1500 along with the MH-31A8J .
