I have the opportunity to purchase a SDR-1000 for $630.00. Is it worth the money? Should I just save my $$$ for a nice 3000?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

I have own both of them the the SDR 1000 isn't as easy to use a Flex3000 . A very big learning curve  with the 1000 LPT port External sound devices your mic. There is are several version for the 1000  qrp rig 100 watt   and 100 watt  with  auto tuner , four pin mic 8 pin mic plug  not the easy thing to hook a amp too  the 3000  uses rca jack for the amp plus no sound card. Depend on the 1000 and which sound card you might need firewire card and a LPT port also know as printer port the 3000 you need the fire wire. The 3000 can be on the air in a short time the  1000 took me mr about 30 hours to get it to work and still needed many more e hour to learn to run it.

For the money I would buy Flex 3000

Fantastic radios,
That's why there are not so many out there for sale a real sleeper, I run one as the main rig here now and I have had a few top radios in the past .
Yes it can be hard to set up but loads better fun than your run of the mill plug and play boys with just add water noodle antennas
Wouldn't parts with mine , no way,
Buy it!!!
Need a roland sound card FA-66 and hosa cables Then your in buisness.
