I have been using the FireWire interface that is built into my PC's motherboard successfully

with the FLEX-5000, except that when I first start up the SDR software, the audio is

"choppy".  Restarting the SDR software always fixes it.  I have a 64-bit PCI card that I

would like to use in place of the internal FireWire interface.  Is there a special procedure

for getting this to work, or can I just get the card working, plug the cable in, turn the

FLEX on, and start the SDR software?

Thanks in advance and 73,

Bob  WA4FOM

You can install your new card, it will ask for a driver, just install driver and go. As long as the right chipset is used on your new card it should be fine. However I think something else is going on there. It may be a buffer setting, sample rate setting, video, check all this out first. If there is a setting problem then the new card will not help much. I think I have seen that choppy thing on my Flex 3000 before. Changing the sample rate fixed it.
