I am currently running my 3000 on a desktop computer that has a firewire slot.

This means I have a firewire cable that has firewire connectors on both ends, one for the radio and one for the desktop.

I want to run the 3000 on a laptop that does not have a firewire slot.

I understand I can get a USB to Firewire adapter from an online supplier.

Will the adapter work?  I have seen posting that say this will work.

If so, does any one know what online supplier I can contact?

Hi Burt,

Do not bother buying the adapter. It may be OK for printers, scanners and such, but USB does not have the bandwidth to handle a 3000. If there are no card slots on the laptop to add a true FireWire card, I'm sorry to say it will not work.
