Hi,

Anyone here have any experience using the various incarnations of FDMDV with a Flex 5000a and SDR 3.3.5 or another recent release?

Any suggestions about best set up techniques would be appreciated.

Thanks & 73,

Paul WN7T

Well after playing around with FDMDV (ver. 1.2), PwrSDR 3.3.5 and my F5K for several hours, here are some observations:

1. The setup is easy, if you don't go looking for a way to use the F5K's microphone and speaker I/O to interface with the FDMDV.

2. Make a transmit profile specific to this mode and adjust the transmit filters to keep the digital signal narrow.

3. As far as I can tell, there is no way to escape from having to use a seperate mike and speakers (i.e. the computer's built-in ones or a headset).

4. It would be really nice to be able to set up another VAC pair with PwrSDR to use the default sound I/O attached to the F5K.

5. Not very many people are using this mode yet.

6. Being able to do weak signal DV HF DX is within this new mode's capability!

7. It would be nice to have more hams to play with on this mode.

8. PwrSDR holds the potential to be the perfect platform for this mode.

9. The mode ***could*** be integrated directly into a future version of PwrSDR.

10. There is a need to establish a multi-band HF frequency list for this mode (just like PSK31).

11. The software is free.

Thanks & 73,

Hi Paul,

I would be very happy to try it but will this digital voice software work with WIN 7 64 bits ????
I try to have more informations about this digital voice transmission capability but all what i found are
very very poor about which plateform are really supported .

I have a Flex 5000A and WIN7 64 bits here.

Thanks in advance
