Hi,
I am new to ham radio and bought a Flex 5000 with the VU5K 2m/70m module.
I am hearing lots of transmissions from police, ambulance, taxi dispatch, FM broadcast and the NOAA weather radio. For example, I hear San Francisco taxi dispatch on 145.265 very loudly. I hear KCBS broadcast radio on 147.450 very loudly. I can't find the frequency right now but I hear the NOAA weather broadcast within the ham 2m band very strongly most of the time.
Are these harmonics of frequencies outside of the 2M band that the VU5K is picking up, or is there are problem with my unit?
Thanks,
Mark

Most of those are, such as the NOAA WX radio, are not harmonics, but outside the 2 meter band. They should definitely not be appearing there. I would suggest checking with Flex.
