Though the Flex quickstart manual show wiring for their mic input, amazing but true, the document that comes with the Yaesu mic does not.
Google sent me to a Mods URL and I saw something there but the terms for the various pins didn't mesh with the flex.

I'm look for a plug-n-play, not interested in trying to wire up an RJ-45.

Even if I can't use the MD100Z8X filter (thought the 5V+ from Flex looks like the power is there if the pins are right) I want to be sure it won't shot anything when plugged in. Remember when Mics were just Mics The mic's impedance is 500 ohms.

I could probably send it back to universal radio for a more compatible model - if I know what that would be.

Any advice/suggestions appreciated.

I think if you check with Flex, they should have the right adaptor for your mic to just plug in.

Thank you for your reply. Note that the MD100A8X has and RJ-45 connector. At issue are the pin-outs. Are you saying Flex has a Yaesu RJ-45 to Flex RJ-45 adaptor?

I use a Heil HM-12 and Heil mic cord which has the yellow ends I was told that is the same cord used on Yaesu. My reports on HF that I have FM quality audio.
