Well I gave up trying to use 2.1.5, when using an amplifier and the X2 connection to key it you will get all kinds of Crazy SWR readings and it will fold back the power. I have verified it with 2 other users that run amps and the X2 connection.

Seems like no fix will be coming and no one from flex on the reflectors will even acknowledge the issue.

Hi Craig,

When you say "X2 connection" are you referring to the TX2 keying line? I've never keyed my amp with anything other than the TX1 keying line, so I haven't seen this (yet) but I can give it a shot to see if 2.1.5 causes the same issue here if that's what you are referring to. I'm not sure if it would be applicable with my 5000A or if what you are seeing is isolated to the SDR-1000. I've noted a few random quirks with the TX-RX antenna selection dialog box but have not yet been able to clear up exactly what invokes the scenario where some of my settings are randomly "forgotten".

By the way, I happened to tune across your signal on 75 meters a day or two ago and have to say it's one of the finest sounding signals I've heard in a long time. Nice setup!

The X2 Connector on the SDR-1000 is a 15 pin connection that you wire up for keying the amp. I believe you use pin 7 and 15, I also use a ARB-704 just to be safe. Anyway I think this is specific to the SDR-1000. About every 3rd or 4th time I key up on SSB I get a high SWR and it folds the power back. Using 1.18.6 my SWR shows a 1.0:1 and I never get a high SWR. I also checked the SWR between the radio and amp and its good even on 2.1.5 but for some unknown reason the software thinks its getting a high SWR level.

Yah, that does sound like something specific to the SDR-1000. I'd definitely post the issue to the buglist and have the other stations with 1000's add their comments to your report. You can always follow it up with an email to Dudley. I hope you get it sorted out.

Its been submitted a couple of times for previous versions and still no fix. I just filed another one for 2.1.5 but doubt we will see any fixes. I just keep plugging along on 1.18.6 and it never misses a beat.

I have a similar issue using version 2.2.3 with tuning my SDR-1000 into an external amp. I get a high SWR indication on some bands even though the SWR looking into the amp is less than 1.5:1, but I got around this by reducing the drive then tuning the amp. I know this isn't ideal since I'm not tuning the amp at full drive but it appears to work. I don't have this issue with version 1.18.6.

You may be able to avoid the HI SWR indication with the SRD-1000 ( PSDR 2.2.3 ) when using an external amp if you set the X2 delay ( Setup>General>Options) to 1 of some other small number.

Thanks, with 2.2.3 and a delay of 0 it seemed to work pretty well. I think most of the issues with Ver 2 X X PSDR and the 1000 are now minimal and I had it working pretty stable. But now I have a 5000 and haven't looked back...

I did sell my 1000 to a friend and will be giving him a hand with the set up.
