I was so impressed with the 3000, I ordered a 5000a.

But I have a problem.

When the radio is un keyed, and rather loud pop is generated.

It makes it hard to use with  headphones.

The pop is being generated as soon as the T/R relay is un latched.

I sure hope that I have something set up incorrectly, and not a quirk of the 5000a.

Other than that it is a very fine radio.

Thanks

AL

I just wired up a mic to my 1500 last night and noticed the same thing when I listen to myself in the monitor. I don't know if it goes out over the air or not but it probably would since I hear it in the monitor.

I guess with only 5 watts it might not be too objectionable but with a 100w rig it would be worse, especially with an amp.

Hi Al,

What version of Power SDR are you using? This was frequently mentioned by users of earlier versions, but from my experience with 2.0.22 it appears to have been addressed. I no longer hear it with my 5K.
