If you have not already tried the Flex Knowledge Center, may I suggest you try there next.

http://kc.flex-radio.com/search.aspx

Entering HRD will give you several articles to start with.. If you are going to use HRD/dm780 for digital modes you may wish to use 'VirtualAudioCables' (VAC). You may also wish to use a serial port emulator program such as com0com. Although the HRD article mentions vcom, com0com is currently recommended by many. Suggest search the KC for VAC and com0com.

Thanks for the tip

Have been in the knowledge-base for many things as I have so many questions..

Simple things like DSP / NR / NB settings.... can get any to work properly..

I am sure they do but it is getting the settings right.

In the 4 years that I have been using PowerSDR, I have had very little reason to change any of the DSP, NR, NB setting except just to see what the did.. Defaults work just fine for 99% of my operation.

Don't let the quest for "optimum" settings get in the way having fun with the radio ( unless the quest is the fun ! )

OK.... I got HRD working fine....

Not sure how .. it was a case of "Poke & Hope"

Re DSP & NB Settings.... I assume that the controls are there for a reason.

On my IC7000 the NB suppresses static crashes.... I haven't yet found a setting on the Flex-5000 that does anything as good.... having said that I am still playing.

I am resorting to using the BHI DSP Box for comfortable 'Noise free' reception until I get everything under control on the F5K

Thanks
