For the last couple of times the radio and the computer have been connected for a good part of the day, typically >12 hours. I select stop the radio, then select the [X] in the upper right corner of the radio display, then power off the computer. After all that, I press the Power button on the radio to the off position and the blue light is still on. I cycle the power switch several more times and the only way to turn off the radio is to physically remove it from the power source. Is this a software issue for the microprocessor and the switch?

Fred - N4CLA

RE: Power switch Problem

My power light stay on also at times, if I shut down PowerSDR and forget to turn off the switch on the 1500 the

on\off switch will turn off. The computer has gone into standby or sleep mode, I have to unplug the 1500 and all

will work ok. I think they should make a selection to automatically turn off the Flex-1500 when shutting down the

software.

Mike

Power switch Problem

There seems to be an issue with the 1500 power switch that will not power off when the switch is detented "OFF". I have spoken to someone about this in the past and could not get it to fail since, so here it is again. I think the scenario is as follows. If the radio is left powered on and the computer is powered off, like over night, and I then try to power off the radio, the blue led stays lit. I have had an ammeter connected in line with the radio and when the radio is operating correctly in the receive mode, it is drawing +/- 300 ma. When I did detent the switch "OFF" and it did not power off, the current drain went to 150 ma in the"OFF" position.

Tim what do you suggest?

Fred - N4CLA
